To make a typing text GIF, separate the fixed prefix from the changing messages, set the type, hold, and delete timing, preview the longest line at its final size, and export only after the loop reads naturally.
Quick answer: Open the Typing Text GIF Maker, enter a fixed prefix and one message per line, set the typing, hold, and delete delays, preview the loop, and download the GIF.
Set the motion before styling the text
Write the message before choosing colors or fonts. A fixed prefix plus a few short changing lines works for a portfolio headline, README demo, status line, or announcement.
The generator has separate controls for the typing delay, the pause after a completed line, and the delete transition. Start with the current defaults, then change one timing control at a time so you can tell which change fixed the pacing.
| Goal | Start with | Change when |
|---|---|---|
| Short status or README headline | One prefix and a few short messages | A line wraps or needs multiple loops |
| Readable type-on effect | The default typing delay | Letters feel too fast or too slow in the final preview |
| Clean rotating loop | A visible hold before deletion | The viewer cannot finish reading the completed line |
Keep fixed and changing text separate
Put the part that should remain visible in the Prefix field. Put each phrase that should type and delete on its own line in Messages. This makes the sequence easier to scan and prevents the shared part of every line from being animated repeatedly.
Keep the longest message in mind. If it forces the canvas to become too wide, shorten the copy or increase the canvas width before reducing the font until it becomes unreadable.
- Enter the fixed part of the phrase, if you need one.
- Add each changing phrase on its own line.
- Watch the longest message in the preview before styling the rest.
Check the exported GIF at its destination
Preview the downloaded GIF, not only the editor canvas. Check the first frame, the last deletion, and the return to the first message. A clean loop should not appear to jump because of an unexpected blank frame.
If the file is too large for the destination, reduce the canvas or remove unnecessary waiting time before using the GIF Compressor. If the background needs to disappear, enable transparent output and test the result against the real page or chat background.
Use the generator for a GIF that can travel through a README, message, email, or social post without requiring a JavaScript embed.
